Our Mission

What is a Charter School?

Our Vision

THe Columbia County School for the Arts mission is to develop students to become confident, creative, and productive citizens within their community.

Academic curriculum infused with the arts

The Columbia County School for the Arts will be a school of academic excellence for students in grades K-12 that will develop the whole student through a curriculum that infuses music, drama, visual arts, dance, and foreign languages into the core academic areas of math, language, science, and social studies.

Charter schools are tuition-free public schools of choice. Unlike traditional public schools, a charter school operates according to the terms of its charter, or contract, that has been approved by the local district or State Board of Education. A charter school may request waivers from certain provisions of Title 20 of Georgia state law and any state or local rule, regulation, policy or procedure relating to schools in the school district. In exchange for this flexibility, the charter school is bound by contract to be held accountable to the performance-based objectives specified in the charter.

Look at what our supporters have to say...

"I support CCSA because we are all not cut from the same cloth and having an alternative approach to education and culture is critical to creating a dynamic individual that will be our leaders of the future." - Scott M.

"I support CCSA because it will be an environment where my son can learn and flourish not only through education but with music as well. It gives me an alternative when the school he attends now cannot help him to grow to all that he can be." - Trulana H.

"Art engages the whole brain, giving our students opportunities to develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills, and to develop endurance and resilience. Children who are engaged in the arts become risk-takers, have a better sense of self, and form real connections to the world at large." - Lauren H.

"I want the best education for my son with the most opportunities to learn things in multiple ways." - Sharon O.
